F-Aptasia (1 OZ) By Frank's Tanks
F-Aptasia (F-Aiptasia) is a highly effective, reef-safe paste formulated to quickly eliminate pest Aiptasia anemones in marine aquariums. Created by Frank Gardner of Frank's Tanks, this unique formula works differently than watery liquid treatments. It is a thick, heavy suspension that completely coats and seals the Aiptasia. By physically trapping the anemone, F-Aptasia prevents it from retracting or releasing planula larvae (spores) into the water column, giving you a clean kill without spreading the pest.
Key benefits
No Spore Release: Completely seals the pest anemone to prevent defensive propagation, solving the biggest issue of watery chemical treatments.
Clings to the Target: The heavy, paste-like consistency sticks directly to the Aiptasia and surrounding rockwork without washing away in low currents.
Safe for Coral Reefs: Formulated with reef-safe ingredients that will not disrupt your water chemistry when used in recommended amounts.
Fast-Acting Formula: Rapidly smothers and destroys the target pest within minutes of application.
Precise Application: Includes a syringe and dispensing tip to make targeting small pests in tight rock crevices easy and clean.
Specifications
Net volume: 1 oz (approx. 30 ml)
Form: Thick liquid/paste suspension
Primary purpose: Elimination of pest Aiptasia anemones
Water type: Saltwater (Marine Reef)
Intended users: Reef hobbyists and professional aquarium maintenance technicians
Suggested use
Preparation: Shake the bottle vigorously before use. If the product settles or thickens over time, add a few drops of RO/DI water and shake again.
Setup: Turn off all wavemakers, return pumps, and powerheads to make the aquarium water completely still.
Application: Draw a small amount of F-Aptasia into the provided syringe. Place the tip near the pest and gently apply the paste directly over its oral disc, completely covering the head and tentacles.
Dwell time: Leave your pumps off for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the paste to form a crust and seal the anemone. Restart your pumps after this period.
Safety limit: Do not treat more than 5 to 10 Aiptasia per day to avoid temporary shifts in pH.
Ingredients
Purified water, calcium hydroxide, proprietary binding and thickening agents.
Storage and safety
Store upright in a cool, dry place. Keep the cap tightly sealed to prevent the paste from drying out.
Keep out of reach of children and household pets.
Warnings
For aquarium use only. Not for human consumption.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes (alkaline substance). Flush immediately with water if contact occurs.
Do not apply directly onto desirable corals or anemones, as the smothering paste will harm them.
What’s included
1 x Bottle of F-Aptasia (1 oz / 30 ml)
1 x Application syringe
1 x Angled metal dispensing tip
Why choose
F-Aptasia is a legendary product in the saltwater hobby because it tackles the root cause of Aiptasia outbreaks: accidental spawning. Rather than causing the anemone to retreat and release spores, it traps the pest instantly under a hard-setting, caustic crust. This 1 oz bottle is the perfect size to keep on hand for spot-treating sudden outbreaks in nano reefs or larger systems before they spread.
